Check 21 - What is it?
The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21) allows financial institutions to take a picture (a legal substitute check) of your original check and then transport it electronically. This efficient process will clear checks faster and decrease check fraud. Before you write a check, make sure that your checking account has enough money in it to cover the check.
